What People Are Saying

From athletes, to former athletes, to healthcare professionals.

What makes the Down Dog Athletics Yoga Method different?

It's a system designed for athletes to help them improve what they do in the gym, on the field, and on the court.

Breath: Exhale Emphasis

When training, the breath is an important tool to control your nervous system and core. The Down Dog Athletics Method emphasizes exhaling through movement to balance the nervous system and train a stable core.

Training the eccentric phase of movement allows you to increase flexibility, mobility, and injury prevention. This allows for more controlled flexibility than static stretching alone.

Flexibility: Eccentric Emphasis

Proprioception: Movement Pattern Focus

Rather than focusing on peak postures or poses. Down Dog Athletics Yoga focuses on grooving movement patterns seen in the gym and on the field to improve balance and muscle activation.

Yoga is best utilized as a recovery technique, not a workout. The goal of every session is to help connect an athlete to their parasympathetic nervous system and slow down so they can go hard in the proceeding day(s).

Recover: Parasympathetic Practice
